Blair Waldorf, a fictional Columbia student on television’s “Gossip Girl,” is full of life advice and loves catty banter.
Ray Lewis, a Baltimore Ravens linebacker and all-around crazy person, just won his second Super Bowl.
The following quotations can be attributed to either the CW’s resident drama queen or Baltimore’s favorite acquitted murderer. Can you tell the difference?
1. “I prepare so no one can take what is mine, no one can replace my mind, my heart.”
2. “What do you mean you don’t know the price of the Prada clutch? You are Prada. Get me, Miuccia?”
3. “I stuck my hand up a turkey’s butt—you’re not getting out of your job.”
4. “Here’s my advice: have a little faith, and if that doesn’t work, have a lot of mimosas.”
5. “I’m willing to serve. Before I lead any other man into anything I’m willing to take the hard falls myself but also come back and share the pains that came from it.”
6. “We get one opportunity in life, one chance at life to do whatever you’re going to do, and lay your foundation and make whatever mark you’re going to make. Whatever legacy you’re going to leave, leave your legacy!”
The 63rd Primetime Emmys are tonight, and what better way to keep up with the awards ceremony than with two guys who don’t know a thing about television? We (Bob and Eli) are going to take you (lonely student, or our respective mothers) on a roller-coaster ride down the red carpet. Enjoy! LiveBlog after the jump. Refresh for more updates!
The world is divided into two groups: those who are eligible to be a Columbia College Class Day speaker, and those who aren’t. The rules of eligibility are very complicated and rather boring, especially in the context of alumni with titles like “junior secretarial understudy to the office of a moderately important governmental agency,” or “person who got something published somewhere.” More »
The crew is set up on the corner of 116 and Claremont (great view from 616), though there appears to be only a couple actors right now who keep getting in and out of a limo. The parking signs say until 10 PM though, so by all means, stalk away.
We’ll update here if anything interesting happens.
UPDATE: 11:30: We spotted Nate and Chuck. Photos after the jump. More »
Yeah, so apparently people watch this show we posted about earlier. I don’t know. But girls keep screaming outside my window on 116, and it’s apparently because the boys started to film their part (whatever it may be). But we got our hands on some photos and figured you might want to check it out instead of waiting around with all those screaming fans.
Signs posted early in the week promised that our favorite Upper East Siders would finally attend Columbia on Wednesday, Sept. 8, but as usual, they ditched school for something more fashionable, we’re sure. The orange cones are now in place a day later, blocking off the street for filming. Have our high society classmates finally arrived? Filming notices have been posted on 116th Street between Riverside and Broadway, as well as on 120th Street and Claremont.
We’ll update you with pictures and sightings throughout the day.
1:16 p.m.: Apparently, signs say that the crew is filming at UTS.
5:31 p.m.: Sightings! Check out the first of our photos of the set at Religion Hall (UTS) and the always lovely Blake Lively outside of Ollie’s below. More »
Finally, Blair is transferring to Columbia. After teasing us for months, the writers have come to their senses and aren’t messing around with any NYU nonsense anymore. Find out Blair’s unorthodox admission story after the jump. More »
Finally! All of those Gossip Girl film crew sightings are amounting to something.
Yesterday on YouTube, the CW posted clips from next week’s episode, titled “It’s a Dad, Dad, Dad, Dad World,” featuring Blair and Nate speaking to each other on the phone right down the street from Columbia’s gates. Blair drops more hints she may be considering our school! Clips after the jump. More »
Last night’s episode of Gossip Girl suggests the directors of the show might be coming to their senses and having Blair’s character transfer from NYU to Columbia. Nothing’s definite, but you can decide for yourself if GG’s directors are planting the seeds for an uptown transfer. Plot summary after the jump. More »
