Day 5 recap—Some sophomores may be forced upon the shaft tomorrow

Here’s what happened.

Few groups dropped: The Furnald cutoff will be roughly 10/220 10/278

Housing announced that there would be 40 singles for Online Selection. 10/1, 10/17, 10/23, 10/106, 10/120, 10/159, and 10/213 didn’t pick today, and therefore I’ll assume dropped to Online. This, combined with the people already in Online selection, leads to a cutoff of aroundt 10/278 (with the possibility for it to rise a few lottery numbers).

Housing shortage

If no one drops tomorrow, whether you go by Housing’s count, Bwog’s count, or ours, some sophomores literally won’t have a room to pick into. Inevitably, multiple groups will drop, so that won’t be an issue. What that does mean though is that there will be very slim pickings later on in Suite Selection. This could get ugly. More »

LIVEBLOG Day 5: Sophomores surge (UPDATE: There will be 40 Furnald singles in GenSel)

With the aftermath of Junior Regroup, the most dramatic moments of this year’s Housing selection are over. There’ll still be a few plotlines—namely when will the Claremont 7s be gone and how many sophomores will elect to test the waters of General Selection—but the turbulence has ended.
