Will this case ever have a resolution?

Not Manhattanville this time, but rather the ongoing legal saga of Columbia associate professor Lionel McIntyre, whose trial has been delayed yet again. A review of all past twists and turns in this case after the jump.

Back in November, McIntyre was arrested and charged with assault and harassment of Margaret Camille Davis, a production manager at Columbia’s School of the Arts.

In January, he failed to appear in court. Two weeks later, he did appear, and pretrial proceedings went forward.

In March, at another pretrial hearing, the case was adjourned until June.

And now, here we are, with a fresh adjournment until September, at which point we’ll be running up on a full year for this to play out.

What is going on here? Is the whole world on crazy pills? Kudos to the Columbia Spectator for being the ONLY publication still following this story. I can’t help but feel that all parties involved just want to sweep this whole situation under the rug.
