To(Fri)day is your day!
Disclaimer: There will be food porn. Lots of it.
Only Four. More. Days. I would pull out my Modern I moves and hinge for joy, but I have four more Latin American Lit essays to write, as well as a few finals.
Plus I never managed to master the hinge.
Like any good Columbian though, I’ve been focusing really hard on my long-term goals: eating my way through New York this summer. Here it is, presented in epic poem form because this it’s going to be a veritable gastro-odyssey:
Oh, the the Things that You’ll eat!
Congratulations!
Today is your day.
Finals are over!
You’re off and away!
Dining plans are over.
Even Blue Java’s closed.
You can blow your hard earned money
on Shake Shack and Veniero’s.
For gargantuan cookies, Levain’s the first stop.
Top it all off with Tasty Hand-Pulled Noodle Shop.
You’ll look up and down streets. Look ‘em over with care.
Williamsburg, Chinatown, or East Village over there.
Maimonide‘s my man, and I’m ready to meet
Chinatown Ice Cream Factory, and the guys at Pommes Frites.
And if the hipsters are too many
you’ll want to walk down.
In that case, of course,
head on straight downtown.
It’s less eccentric there,
Comfort food’s in the air.
Out there by food trucks you may happen,
and frequently do.
Wafels and Dinges,
And Tuk Tuk Boy too.
And then dessert cravings happen,
don’t worry. Don’t stew.
Junior’s, Two Litle Red Hens,
The Doughnut Plant too.
Oh! After finals,
The things that I’ll eat!

eating your way through NYC sounds like a great goal!
Mmm doughnut plant.
makes me so happy
