Young man killed by train at 116th station
Bwog reports that someone has died by jumping in front of a train at the 116th station. The News desk has sent a reporter to the scene. Details to come.
UPDATE: NYPD cannot confirm it was a suicide, but says that it was an older man. However, an MTA official says that a pedestrian reported that it was a younger man.
UPDATE (12:46): An anonymous MTA employee reports that the victim was a student.
UPDATE (1:07): An anonymous NYPD detective claims it was not a Columbia student, though the ID on the victim shows a birth date of 1991. The News desk reports here.
UPDATE (1:24): An investigator at the scene reports that the victim was a white male.

Seriously, Spectrum, get on it. Bwog had three updates before you had even this single, outdated one.
You have a greater concern over which outlet breaks news two minutes ahead of the other rather than for the fate of the individual who passed away? That’s nice to hear….
Here’s to hoping the family and friends of this person can find solace during hard times.
the person was worried about someone they know and anxiously awaiting information….
you’re an asshole
supposed to be a reply to “Seriously” up there.

I don’t think there is anything quite so tragic as a young person, which so much ahead of them, to take their own life. One of the things I hate about this city is how it can make people feel so lonely.
not to say that was the cause…we can’t even tell if this was a suicide, apparently…but just in general, it’s tragic.
I agree. Even if the “cause” wasn’t the city, the city makes me feel extremely lonely and depressed sometimes. Not to mention, when I do feel that way, the city makes me feel like there is no one who cares.
Ii don’t understand why it matters whether the person was “young” or “old” — his/her age has nothing to do with the degree of sadness either the person felt or that we should feel.
is inferior to Spectrum.
someone just died. can we NOT turn this into a spectrum vs. bwog debate?
This man was 18 years old, and was a troubled teenager. His mother was divorced, and neglected him, and he was depressed, and this was the finale. It is very sad, however he is now in a better place, than he was before.
He was a nice boy. There were people around him that loved him very much.
