My mother helped me remember my convocation experience as she dropped me off for early move in: “Thank God they put up those tents or else all the hungover orientation week freshmen would have to wear sunglasses — you could hardly walk straight that morning!”

When I was a freshman in 1980, convocation wes held in Low Library. It was a very impressive event. It is too bad that the CC/SEAS now holds the convocation in a tent.

The schools are much bigger now. My convocation was in Levien Gym

I didn’t get a convocation. It foreshadowed the year that followed.
