Then there are three main acts, and they are: Wavves, Curren$y, and the headline act will be Big Gigantic. Unfortunately our student life fees fund Bacchanal. ESC/CCSC/SGA/GSSC need to work on this next year. Bacchanal needs more oversight from the councils.

the councils are full of the most douchebagg’d up kids who listen SOLELY to ke$ha and skrillex. after they’d find out that we couldn’t afford them they’d be lost and even more douchebagg’d

While I agree that these aren’t as mainstream and popular as Snoop was last year, if people like Snoop and like rap, they would know who Curren$y is. Honestly, what’s the last great thing that Snoop put out anyway? The first half of Rhythm and Gangsta? Unfortunately, I can’t vouch for the rest…

come on people, only reason we liked snoop dogg was because we could tell all our friends how cool columbia is for getting an A-list celebrity. What’s more important? enjoying the concert or telling people about it? Just because these people aren’t known doesn’t mean their music isn’t good so how about we bring down the silly elitism for once and listen to the videos posted, THEN comment.

Honestly these are good acts, don’t really understand all of the hate. I’ve never heard of big gigantic but i like this song, and wavves and currensy are really great and well-established and have been gaining reputation fast.

And if the most important thing about bacchanal for you is being able to brag to your friends, isn’t it better to be able to introduce them to great new acts than for us to bring in a washed-up old star? Not that I think this is the even the right way to approach it, bacchanal should be about getting drunk in the afternoon and having a good time as a school that tends to take itself a little too seriously.

What virtue is there to getting drunk in the afternoon? Or getting drunk at any time? Oh, right, this is BACCHANAL, a child’s version of Mardi Gras. Well, lah di dah.

Big Gigantic is actually fantastic in concert. Trust me, their recorded stuff sucks, but they are very enjoyable in concert. I mean obviously it’s nothing compared to the likes of Ye, Snoop, or even Wiz for that matter, but it should be a good time. Don’t give up hope just yet.

SERIOUSLY Bacchanal. Lock. It. Up. Wavves played Underground Lounge in ’09 and if anything they are less famous now. How about one decent band instead of three crappy dated ones??? Why are you guys so useless???? DOES ANYONE LISTEN TO MUSIC HERE?????

we have 3 acts all of which are termed as upcoming/cool underground bands with good music? Columbia has one freaking big concert a year and you guys couldnt get one well-known artist that the entire student body knows?

And the whole bragging rights argument is ridiculous. Being an a-list celebrity and having great music are not mutually exclusive.

Im geting my tickets for spring fling and tiesto now.

One concert a year and you couldn’t find one band everyone enjoys or at least has heard of? Christ, this is why I don’t care about student government here, they suck at their very simple jobs.

Black Keys and Mos Def. Which would’ve been perfect since they’ve also worked together in Blakroc. But now The Black Keys are too big and that can’t happen.

    Then we have these people.

    Yeah.

On the one hand, Bacchanal’s funding problem isn’t under its leaders’ control. On the other hand, you’d surely think that we could get one really exciting artist for the cost of three mediocre ones.
