Check out the new Bwog!
The new version of Bwog officially launches tonight around 8 p.m. Can’t wait that long? Check out the new design here. This may be a little older than what they’re going with now, but the front page appears to more or less match up with the screenshot they provided in their launch announcement — and a Bwogster confirmed we had the right site. In case that link goes dead before the launch, we’ve got some screenshots for you here.
Update 7:19: Turns out directing too much traffic to the temp site prevents Bwog from actually being able to update — we’ve removed the link per their request. You can still check out the screenshots below, though!

If you’re too stupid to realize that the video satirizing things that Columbians say and not an actual jab at Barnard, don’t start throwing around names of people you don’t know or can’t even compare to. That video was a joke about the Columbian experience – and you are appropriately commenting on a post about Barnard-hating Bwog – and things that actual students say about Barnard, invalid as they may be. Get a grip.

Doesn’t matter if it was satire. That video was still offensive to people and needlessly perpetuated a very negative and detestable aspect of the Columbia community. I’m sure some students found it amusing but many, many were hurt by that, and so were my friends.
In the words of Madonna, this new layout is “reductive.”
I think Spec should work on its online layout next.
The people complaining about the Barnard joke in that video are not making themselves look very smart. The video was a satire of stupid things people at Columbia say — therefore, the joke was on people who talk shit about Barnard, not on people who go to Barnard. Anyone who didn’t get that or was “hurt” is a fucking moron who doesn’t understand satire and doesn’t deserve to be attending Barnard OR Columbia.

Actually, it was…which is why there was generally a negative reaction to the video. If that many people are not “getting it” it doesn’t mean they don’t deserve to study here — it just means it was something that could have been reasonably misinterpreted.
I don’t know what reaction to the video was, but I don’t remember anyone ever complaining about the Barnard joke. Also I like how not only did you completely misunderstand the joke, because you’ve apparently never heard of satire before, but you’ve also been carrying the grudge around for what…almost a year now? You seem like a pleasant person.
You’re missing the point. The actual Barnard joke used wasn’t even a joke but a reference to the ORIGINAL shit white girls say to black girls and the banality of race relations.
