Good morning Columbia! Here’s what we’ve got for you today:
Read this: CC junior Anthony Da Costa performed at Joe’s Pub this past weekend and will be touring Canada and Denmark soon. [A&E]
Know this: ESC announced that SEAS is likely to change its core requirement for computer science. [News]
Here’s more: Opinion columnist Arvin Ahmadi looks at the Instagram-Facebook deal and how startups can become mainstream. [Opinion]
Katie Chrest is a former World Cup winner with Team USA and is helping the Lions lacrosse team build a foundation. [Sports]
Events of the day: Two today! There’s a Live at Lerner event and it’s also Barnard Spirit Day.
Weather: Sunny with a high of 77!
Can Columbia students eat at the Barnard barbecue?
Yep!
Mrinal, the spec is NOT okay. I know everything.
Thank you for your ethereal comments. Thank you spec for giving the same amount of space to Anthony Da Costa as the weather. He deserves better (i.e. not the spec). specsucks.wordpress.com
Hi Susana, I’m getting beettr. I really would like to have you guys write more about yourselves on our class blog. Maybe you can create a post along with Kylie and get everyone to comment on it? I like the idea of using each person’s avatar next to the details about that person.
If Google serves you ads based on thigns you search for how is it better than Facebook serving you ads based on thigns you tell it?I’d argue that Facebook’s knowledge of their users is miles ahead of Google’s simply because people use Facebook for tons of social sharing and hardly anyone uses Google for that.
