Barnard TA charged with sending pictures of genitals to “14-year-old girl”
Barnard teaching assistant Igor Sorkin, 31, has been charged with sending pictures of his genitals to minors, the NY Daily News reports.
According to DA Richard Brown, Sorkin virtually exchanged these photos from Oct. 5 to Jan. 25 to a person who he believed was a 14-year-old girl but was, in fact, an undercover cop. Prosecutors say that Sorkin, using the screen names condor3097 and firetiger11235, sent indecent photos and sexually provocative instant messages to the undercover officer. Sorkin was arrested Tuesday night at a location in Queens where he thought he would meet the 14-year-old.
Sorkin is listed as a Teaching Assistant under the Columbia directory and has similar positions at Pace and Hunter College. Originally from Israel, Sorkin is also a National Chess Master. He faces up to seven years in prison if convicted on charges of sending indecent materials to minors and endangering the welfare of a minor.

whenever he sent out problem sets and stuff he’d accidentally send out pictures of his genitals and then follow up with an email explaining that it was a mistake, etc.
i believed him at the time but now i see that it was intentional.
