Wake-up call

A great day for music everywhere

I’m thrilled to report that it is officially National One-Hit Wonder Day. Yes, it is also National Voter Registration Day, and you should absolutely take part (CU Dems are making it easy for you by setting up registration camp on the Sundial). But when you’re done with that, please celebrate  the former with the likes of this, this, or this.

Read this: Yoni Golijov is tired of watching Barnard administrators “hack away at their community” for the sake of making money.

Know this: So apparently, Ursinus College outside of Philadelphia has a core curriculum (started in 2007), and thanks to a grant, Columbia will team up with this liberal arts college to study and improve its curriculum, and hopefully train and motivate Columbia professors.

Here’s more: Nearby Columbia U Consignment provides a quick fix for thrifty students who don’t want to schlep to the East Village or Brooklyn.

And one more thing: Check out this analysis of Columbia’s loss to Fordham on Saturday—it appears not all hope is lost.
