This week in GSSC: Makeups and nightmares
By Elizabeth Sedran
General Studies Student Council correspondent Elizabeth Sedran brings you the highlights from this week’s meeting.
What They’ve Done
- After a prolonged heated interaction over a Columbia University Family Support Group Pumpkin Decorating Event last GSSC meeting, CUFSG and GSSC reached an understanding about their expectations for interaction between the groups and mended their relationship. Last week, GSSC debated the possibility of funding a joint, family pumpkin carving event; however, council members sparred over the proposal. The council ultimately decided to fund the event.
- GSSC has helped to set up this week’s dinner discussion for careers in law with Alumni Affairs.
What to Expect
- This Friday from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. there will be Ultimate Frisbee on the Barnard lawn as a co-sponsored study break between GSSC and Barnard’s Student Government Association.
- On Nov. 2, GSSC will be hosting an outdoor screening of “The Nightmare before Christmas.”
