Thursday pregame playlist: Taylor Simone
For this week’s “Thursday Pregame Playlist,” we asked CUSH Poetry Coordinator and singer-songwriter Taylor Simone, CC ’14, for her top 10 party songs.
Countdown – Beyonce. Funky, fun song, Beyonce never ceases to make you dance.
Marvin and Chardonnay – Big Sean ft. Kanye West. Great song, from two of the best.
Quicksand - J*DaVeY ft. DefSound. LA-based group J*DaVeY has been out for a while, and is a great blend of hip-hop and electronic. Look out for their new album “New Designer Drug” coming soon.
Who Gon’ Stop Me – Kanye West and Jay-Z . Excellent cut from the duo album.
My Step – Little Dragon. One of my favorite groups. If you like what you hear, check out their latest album “Ritual Union.”
High Hopes – Onra ft. Reggie B. Instrumental feel-good track that’s just good for ambience.
This Is How We Do It - Montell Jordan. Party anthem back in LA. I don’t remember a bomb party that I went to that didn’t play song.
Cole World - J. Cole. One of the hypest tracks off the album. If you like what you hear, try “Nobody’s Perfect” ft. Missy Elliot.
Sun Of A Gun – Oh Land. Experimental group that I really dig. If you like what you hear, listen to “Heavy Eyes”—that’s my jam.
Superstarr Pt. Zero - K-Os. Old school song that still knocks out bass speakers.
She is so in my Fundamentals of Western Music Class! cool
