Thursday pregame playlist: Carlos Eduardo Rodriguez Castillo
For this week’s “Thursday Pregame Playlist,” we’re giving you the musical musings of former AEPi president and lightweight rower Carlos Eduardo Rodriguez Castillo, SEAS ’12. Get your Thursday night going after the jump.
The High Road – Broken Bells. Much like a bear coming out of hibernation, a student waking up from his/her cat nap will definitely feel this tune to start his/her night.
Fantasy feat. Ruckazoid – Breakbot. Breakbot is an outstanding artist that is sometimes overshadowed by the rest of Ed Banger. This song definitely shows he’s one of the greats in the group.
North American Scum – LCD Soundsystem. LCD has so many good beats. This is an oldie by their standards, but definitely a goodie.
I Need A Dollar – Aloe Blacc. Probably my favorite song right now. With this fine tune Aloe Blacc defines not only every Thursday night but the eternal quest of the broke, job-seeking senior. Anthem of the low on moolah.
Kiss of Life – Friendly Fires. The Friendly Fires hit the spot with their alternative tunes with a tropical splash. Ladies, see lead-singer Ed Macfarlane shaking it up in the video, he’s quite the cool cat.
Sussudio – Phil Collins. Any good pregame playlist needs some Phil in it, everyone can do with some more of his bop. This is a tribute to Captain Fun and his primo 80′s tunes.
Sometimes – Miami Horror. What better way to get weird than by listening to some of Miami Horror’s funkier tunes?
Midnight City – M83. From their latest album, Midnight City is quite possibly one of the best makeout sesh tunes. Ever.
Olympic Airways – Foals. Foals bring that sharp ‘n high beat you need to get a little weird. Always have, and always will. Probably one of the best live shows out there these days.
Happy Violence (Vocal Mix) – Dada Life. All good things must come to an end … what better way to end a pregame than with a BOOM?!?!
