Morningsiders and Flaxo prepare for busy fall
Campus bands will be looking to make a name for themselves beyond College Walk this fall. We know that the autumnal crunch of leaves is a nice soundtrack for your walk to class, but Columbia’s music scene makes a strong case for itself.
Morningsiders going into studio, recording new single
Fans of CU’s favorite folksters have an exciting few months ahead of them. Morningsiders are recording new material at the Cutting Room studio on Friday, with a new single and video to be released soon after. The band are also headlining the Bitter End’s CMJ showcase on Oct. 17 and kick off a winter college tour at Lafayette College on Nov. 1.
New single from Flaxo brings the moombahton
CU’s premiere trap artist Flaxo released his long-awaited remix of Cash Cash and Bebe Rexha’s “Take Me Home” on Monday. Swaggering synths and gunshot samples make this moombahton banger a must for any self-respecting basshead.
Tunes and chowder at Live at Lerner
The latest installment of this semester’s Live at Lerner series brought food and folk-pop to Lerner’s piano lounge. Students were treated to clam chowder and shepherd’s pie as they caught a tender set from Brooklyn duo Little Anchor.
Sets on the steps at Lowlapalooza
After the success of last year’s fall music festival, Bacchanal is back with the second edition of Lowlapalooza. Nine CU groups and solo artists will be performing this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Low Steps, including DJ Dwai, Matthew Alexander, and Phonoscenes.
