Confirmed: Northwest Corner gets Joe Coffee

Three days ago, we received word that Joe Coffee was opening a new store at Columbia. Now we have further details. Joe Coffee will be located in the Northwest Corner Building and it will open late January or early February. Further details from Joe Coffee owner Jonathan Rubinstein and a full press release from Columbia spokesperson Dan Held after the jump.

Jonathan Rubinstein mentioned to us that he intends for the store to open late January. Rubinstein also added that in addition to Joe’s usual coffee menu, the new branch will also provide light breakfast and lunch options. Rubinstein said that Joe Coffee, in collaboration with Cafe Iris in Brooklyn Heights, will offer 5-7 different sandwich options. For the breakfast menu, among other items, the new branch will provide oatmeal as well as eggs.

From Columbia spokesperson Dan Held: “The University is delighted that Joe will be occupying the café space at the new Northwest Corner Building at 120th Street and Broadway. Joe is a New York City-based, family-run business with a reputation as one of the best coffee places in the City.  Its critically acclaimed, sustainable, direct-trade coffee and light breakfast, lunch and dinner fare will help meet the needs of the University and local community.  We are working to have the café open by the end of January or early February.”
